In the commissioning ceremony, the Covenants are read first by the Sisters of Mercy, then by the Pre-Associates after which the Mercy Associate pin is presented.

Sisters of Mercy

We, the Sisters of Mercy, promise:
· to include you in our prayers and Eucharistic Liturgies;
· to make available opportunities for your growth in prayer;
· to invite you to share in community celebrations and prayer
  experiences;
· to share our community communications;
· to support you in your response to witness the Gospel
  message in your life;
· to provide opportunities for or information about possible areas   of service.

Pre-Associates

I,__________promise:
· to participate in the various prayer experiences offered by the     community, when possible;
· to make time and space for personal prayer;
· to strive to live the spirit of Catherine McAuley;
· to maintain contact with a local community or individual sister;
· to strive to live in the spirit of the Gospel;
· to witness to Christ's Mercy in the world.
