FIRST SYNOD CONVENES

There are six members of the New Jersey Regional Community who were elected to serve as delegates to the First Synod of the Metuchen Diocese in New Jersey on the occasion of its Silver Jubilee.  The delegates are: Sister Theresina Flannery, Sister Mary Kerwin, Sister Elizabeth O’Hara, Sister Mildred Rossiter, Sister Alice Swartz, and Sister Diane Szubrowski, President of the New Jersey Regional Community.  Among many qualities, the sisters were elected for their leadership skills, their skills as communicators, and their knowledge about diverse needs within the diocese, and their open-mindedness and willingness to consider prayerfully different viewpoints.  The Synod opened in November 19, 2005, and it will conclude in the winter of 2007.
